Go and make disciples of all nations…
— Matthew 28:19 - NIV

THE WAY OF JESUS - A YEAR OF FORMATION

“To be a people formed by Him and live a life fully devoted to the Way of Jesus.”

Rooted in our Purpose is the call to make disciples—not just attendees, not just believers, but disciples of Jesus. In Matthew 28:19 Jesus commands:

“Go and make disciples of all nations…”

We are not here to build or gather crowds.
We are here to make disciples, people formed by Him and who live for Him.

And so in 2026, everything we do, from Sunday to Saturday will center around one focus:

Formation.

Why Formation?

We live in a world that is forming us every single day: forming us toward hurry, anxiety, isolation, self-reliance, distraction, and shallow living.

But Jesus offers a better invitation:

“Come, follow Me … and I will teach you.” Mark 1:17

The word “formation,” throughout Scripture, speaks of God’s intentional act of creating, shaping, and bringing life into existence. It points to:

  • His creative power

  • His sovereignty

  • His ongoing work in shaping His people

Formation is not a human project.
It is God’s holy work in us.

2026 is a year dedicated to learning what it truly means to follow Jesus and be formed by Him

How We Will Walk This Out

This year we are aligning our teaching, groups, ministries, and rhythms around three anchors:

1. The Liturgical Calendar

We will walk with Jesus through the seasons of His life—Advent, Lent, Easter, Pentecost, and Ordinary Time—allowing each season to spiritually form us.

2. The Purpose Pathway

Our discipleship strategy becomes our lived experience:
Know Jesus → Be Formed → Walk Together → Live On Purpose.

3. The 9 Practices of Jesus (Practicing the Way)

Sabbath
Prayer
Fasting
Solitude
Generosity
Scripture
Community
Service
Witness

These become our shared “Rule of Life”—the rhythms that shape us into His image.

Our Purpose in 2026

Everything we do will point toward one vision: “To be a people formed by Him and live a life fully devoted to the Way of Jesus.”

This is the year we follow Jesus more closely, imitate Him more intentionally, and allow His Spirit to form us more deeply than ever before.

2026 is the year we become disciples who make disciples.
A year marked not by activity, but by formation.
Not by striving, but by surrender.
Not by crowds, but by commitment to the Way of Jesus.

“To be a people formed by Him and live a life fully devoted to the Way of Jesus.”

Let’s walk His Way together.

Much Love, Ps. Aaron
